The quality of your imprint depends on different aspects, please ensure to use your e-mark on a regular basis (once per week) or clean the print head. Check the following when you are not satisfied with your imprint quality:
- Always put the e-mark back on the docking station immediately after printing to avoid the print head drying out
- Clean the print head top to bottom using a slightly damp cloth
- Clean the plastic parts on the bottom of the e-mark (around the print head) regularly
- Take out the cartridge and re-insert it
- Ensure you use your e-mark on a solid surface such as a table; only print on one sheet of paper at a time
- Keep your e-mark as straight as possible when printing, use the e-mark ruler for precision printing
Check and compare your imprints with the following:
- Colours of the imprint in the app do not match the colours in the printed imprint -> clean the print head, exchange the cartridge (if already almost empty)
- Pale imprint -> try to print slower, clean print head, exchange cartridge (if almost empty)
- Pale at the beginning of imprint or wrong colours -> clean print head
- Vertical gaps in the imprint or offset -> check if the surface is flat, use the ruler for printing
- Offset in imprint -> ensure you are keeping the e-mark straight when printing
- Stains before the imprint -> wait until cleaning routine is completed before making imprint on a document, clean plastic parts around the print head if dirty
- Small stripes, points before imprint -> move only in one direction (right OR left)
- Stripes in the imprint or parts are missing -> re-insert cartridge
- Colours do no align and words are spelled backwards -> you might have chosen a Ribbon Station template which can only be used with the Ribbon Station, create a new imprint and send again
